On a middle-class budget, in a 1913 apartment building, this kitchen aimed to capture the layered essence of old Budapest. The exposed coats of aged wallpaints revealed a beautiful greenish surface, which we complemented with old, unevenly colored deadstock Metlachi flooring and simple white wall tiles. This combination, reminiscent of hospital designs from the socialist era, was completed with an oak counter and stainless steel fronts.
